Timmy Ho's as I call it. I've worked here too. Their logan, "Always Fresh", is usually not a lie. Brewed coffee lasts 20 mins before it gets dumped out. The "freshly baked oven goods" are really just shipped in boxes and then baked at the location. So no, they do not make the dough and sprinkle cinnamon on it or something. It is pre-packaged and made and just needs to be baked.
Tim Horton's usually features a different food product every month. Once over, they take the special item off the menu. I haven't had a lot of their food since I quit my job there, but I do like Tim Horton's food over Starbucks. And not to mention it's better portioned as well as a CANADIAN franchise.
Drinks here are usually made from powdered form, so that includes the flavoured cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and so on. Their famous Ice Caps are made from heavy cream and an iced java mix. The heavy cream is quite fatty, but can be substituted with skim milk. I prefer it this way cause I find the heavy cream makes the drink too thick. Tim Horton's steeped tea is recommended and I also like a lot of their teas over the Starbucks ones. The lattes taste okay, but unsure of how they actually make them. I'm guessing it comes out from one of their new machines, not actually frothed and stuff by a steamer.
Food wise, they have doughnuts. Everyone knows. My favourite would be the maple doughnut, Boston cream, Canadian maple, honey cruller, and that's it. Sandwiches are good too, turkey bacon and chicken club. Not recommended are: chicken salad (dipped in mayo), egg salad (made of mayo), ham and swiss (ham smells funny), and yeah. The soups are powdered mixes with water, so no, it's not made at the store. Many people love the chili and other soups, I think they're okay, not the best. Bagel wise, I find the 7 grain has way too much texture. Whole wheat is healthy, but doesn't taste as good. The everything bagel is delicious when paired with the herb and garlic cream cheese.
Other than Ice Caps, steeped teas, and tea bags, I wouldn't really recommend the drinks here. The coffee is okay too.
Hope this helps you to figure out what your "usual" at Tim Horton's is.
