Starbucks

Found ALL OVER THE GLOBE.

Anyways, I thought I would do a blog on Starbucks, considering that I work there now. The quality of the drinks are just okay, I'm positively sure there are many other places with higher quality materials that make a better drink.

A lot of the times, the taste of your drinks will definitely vary between baristas. New partners will always be there and they might make your drink wrong. Honestly, almost all drinks are just flavoured with syrups. And each pump of syrup has a disgusting amount of sugar, calories, and carbohydrates.

I've had a lot of the drinks now, the fraps are fatty and often start separating (ice and actual drink) within 20 mins or so. Depending on when you go in and how busy it is and who the barista is, ordering hot drinks might not be the best idea. Why? Espresso shots at Starbucks only last for 10 seconds, but many people just throw it into the hot beverages anyways and this SERIOUSLY affects the drink. I've had coworkers do this to my drinks and it tastes horrible. Quality wise, it's not there. The apple juice has no nutritional value, no vitamin C, no vitamin A, just empty calories, sugars, and carbs. The new "full leaf teas" don't taste as good as the old ones.

With that said, my recommendations for drinks here: caramel macchiato (if you like semi-sweet), white mocha (ask for one pump less than usual for syrups, sweet), iced tea lemonades (easy ice), java chip frappacino (sweet), strawberry banana vivanno, breve latte, and so on.

Do not get the espresso shots from Starbucks, heard recommendations for Nespresso (at the Bay by Granville Skytrain station). Don't get the green tea latte (especially not with foam, it's disgusting). Vanilla rooibos teas are gross too. I would recommend the tea lattes and definitely hot chocolates from Blenz. Hot chocolates from Starbucks is not recommended; it may look nice, but it's just pre-mixed mocha syrup with milk and doesn't have the same richness from Blenz (cause they use actual Belgian chocolate chips). Americanos are better found at JJ Bean.

Food wise, lemon poppyseed loaf is good. Banana loaf is popular, but I'm not really a fan. The chicken bruschetta sandwiches have had great responses and the paninis too. I definitely do not like the low fat fruit bars, egg salad sandwich, and the protein plates.

Anyways, enough with that. Hope this helps a little bit.
