833 Bidwell Street and Robson.
I've been a regular here for several months. The food has definitely gone down since they're opening. The food hasn't shrunk too much, it's just the quality of the food has gone down.
I've ordered their lunch boxes, the sashimi was still partially frozen one time. Salmon slice was not even cut to the size of the nigri sushi, it just kept trailing on. My once favourite yam rolls here are now not crunchy, almost always cold, and has 75% batter and 25% yam. Any of their rolls containing crab meat tastes a little off to me. The dynamite roll can sometimes have microscopic sized prawn tempura (oh, and all tempuras used for rolls are premade). They do have a decent chopped scallop roll, but I've been told by my friend that she doesn't like it at all. The rolls aren't well put together (problem since opening), cause it ALWAYS falls apart. The rice isn't very well seasoned with vinegar and can sometimes be a mess on your roll, like weird chunks hanging off a piece of sushi.
With that said, your order DEFINITELY varies from chef to chef. One guy makes the lunchboxes beautifully and tastes great, while the other slops on the food. So really depends on how lucky you are. They still have fairly cheap sushi and great deals, so I guess you're really getting what you paid for now.
The chefs aren't very friendly, but the people working at cash (especially the guy with glasses) is super friendly, which kinda makes up for it. I don't know if I'll continue eating lunch here, may have to find new place.
