On Jervis and Robson.
Came by three days ago for a quick crepe with the bf. I've been meaning to try it out as I go past out sometimes and by recommendation from a coworker.
The place is kind of.. classy? fancy? unsure.. for a crepe place. It's around the corner from a Starbucks and off Robson, so it's a bit more quiet. They play some soft music in the background, nicely lit place. I think it would look better if the server had a more formal attire instead of the store t-shirt, it would complete the look of the place better. It's fairly clean, but do check your utensils before using cause they just have them set out already all day until someone uses them.
Reason why I gave a two for service was because the server had a very snooty attitude, like she's too good to serve me? But she was polite I guess. No smiles eiither. Just did not like her attitude. And I had to wait to order.. she kept going back to all the other tables to check, again and again, but not ours. Don't know what her problem is.
The menu is a bit pricier than Cafe Crepe, but I think it's worth it. The crepes range from 5-15 dollars, and I think the savoury crepes seem to be larger in size. They also have a few specialty ones, which I'll try the next time I go. They also offer wines and beers here.
We ordered sweet crepes, one is the Belgian chocolate with strawberries and another apple and cinnamon (no alcohol, no time). The crepe itself tastes much better than the one at Cafe Crepe, the chocolate was absolutely delicious, and fresh strawberries. The cinnamon and apple was okay, but I think the moistness from the apples tampered with the overall taste. Both dishes were presented nicely as well. You can definitely taste the difference that quality makes.
Anyways, I'll be back to try some of their other items. If you have an hour to spare and want a high quality crepe, La Bretagne is definitely recommended.
